Terms and conditions

General terms and conditions of reservation and purchase of tourist services offered by Chalet Balea Lac

Accommodation rates:
All rates are per night and include breakfast, VAT 9%.
Rates can be changed at any time, with tariff changes are not affecting reservations already confirmed.
Increasing taxes and fees (VAT., etc.) or the introduction of new taxes will result in changes in both rates and reservations already confirmed.

All rooms are equipped according to international standards. The furniture made of natural wood in a subtle modernized rustic style, the high quality linen, the toilets furnished with washbasin, shower, toilet, are functional, with hot water (permanent), hair dryer and air vacuum cleaner. All rooms have a TV that works according to the weather conditions (in the event of wind, thunderstorms or lack of signal, the TVs may not work).

The term of validity of reservations is 5 days, except for reservations where the date of arrival occurs less than 5 days from the date of booking, in which case the term of validity of the reservation will be mentioned on written confirmation from the Cabana.

In the case of one day booking, the booking conditions are as follows:
– Booking confirmation on arrival day until pm 14:00.
– check-in until pm 18:00

From November 1 to June 30, Transfagarasan road is closed, access to Balea Lake Chalet is by cable car from Balea Cascada. The opening hours are between am 09:00 and pm 17:00, with a minimum of 10 people (because the cable car operates with a maximum of 15 + 1 people), or paying 10 tickets. The cable car has 4 fixed races during the opening hours, and these are at am 09:00, pm 12:00, pm 15:00 and pm 17:00. In case of unfavorable weather conditions (strong winds, very low temperatures, chills, electric discharge) the cable car does not work.

Guarantee and payment of reservations
Reservations are considered secured at the time of payment confirmation.
For reservations made by phone or e-mail:
the reservation is made by the client by paying an advance of 50% of the total amount, within 5 days from the date of booking confirmation, otherwise the reservation will be canceled automatically.
The rest of the stay is paid at the time of arrival, cash or by bank card (debit / credit; Visa or MasterCard).

Cancellations / non-presentations / penalties
Cancellation of a reservation can be made without incurring penalties at least 30 days prior to the start date of the stay.
Cancellation of a firm reservation in less than 30 days until the date of commencement of the stay, the amount paid in advance shall be forfeited in full.
Non-present (or unreported reservation) is the confirmed and unannounced reservation as a result of which the customer did not reach the Chalet on the date set. In case the client does not present the Chalet, the amount paid in advance is fully deductible.
In the case of holiday discounts announced by customers at check-in or during the stay, the Chalet will not be considered and the customer must pay the full amount for the initial booking.

In case of no show due to unfavorable weather conditions, Balea Lac Chalet does not take responsibility, and the advance paid is nonrefundable having the possibility to reschedule the reservation.

Arrival and Departure
The check-in takes place from pm 18.00 and the rooms are to be released by am 11.30 at the latest

At the request of the clients and when the Chalet has spaces, the room can be delivered up to 4 hours more than am 11.30, for a fee of 50% of the value of a night of accommodation.

Prolonged accommodation in case of unfavorable weather conditions (cabin descent) is paid in full.
Accommodation is based on identity card (passport, birth certificate for children) and copy of booking confirmation or payment order.
All rooms are allocated according to the availability of the Chalet on the day of accommodation. For this reason, it is not possible to guarantee a room on a certain floor, adjoining rooms or located in a particular sector. Requests of this kind are considered as preferences of tourists that the Chalet tries to satisfy within the availability limits.
Parking is free of charge in the limited seats reserved for accommodated guests

Restaurant and Bar Running Program:
The program of the Restaurant is am 08:00 – pm 22:00.
Buffet breakfast (for a minimum of 20 people) is served daily from am 08:00 to am 10:00.
It is strictly forbidden access to the Chalet with food and beverages from the outside.

Smoking:
Smoking is forbidden in the cabin, except for the balconies of the rooms and the outside spaces of the ashtray cabin.
The chalet reserves the right to evict customers who fail to comply with this obligation and to cancel their reservation.
Pets
Pets are not allowed in the chalet. The chalet has the right to refuse to accommodate guests accompanied by pet’s subject to the cancellation of the reservation and the payment of a penalty equal to the full value of the services related to the first night of accommodation.

Personal Data Protection:
The chalet guarantees the confidentiality of the personal data of all clients. Personal data collected when making a reservation or providing travel and catering services will not be disclosed to third parties unless the Cabin has to comply with the obligations imposed by the legislation in force.

Environment protection:
Linen and towels change to two days of accommodation or at the customer’s request.
To signal change of linen or towels, guests are kindly requested to leave them in the bathroom.

Safety:
The chalet and public areas are video surveillance.
The chalet does not assume responsibility for forgotten, lost or allegedly stolen objects in the cabin, restaurant, bar, and parking.
The chalet does not take responsibility for any accidents or traumas that may occur within the cabin or restaurant.
Conduct
The chalet reserves the right to refuse accommodation or serving in the restaurant of drunken, rude or turbulent customers who, by their attitude, harm the image of the chalet or disturb other customers.
The chalet reserves the right to select its clients.

Complaints
Complaints about the quality of the provided tourist services will be made on the spot during the stay of the tourists in the chalet. Complaints after the end of the stay will not be taken into account by the chalet.
Complaints about damage caused by the theft, destruction or deterioration of the goods brought by the client into the chalet must be made known within 24 hours.

Payment policy
Payments are made in cash or at the hotel reception in Romanian currency.
